If the module does not behave as you expect (seat not becoming occupied for example) there are a few things you can check.
1.1 Last successful sync
The first thing you can check is the last sync time to see if the client was able to sync with the server. Right click on the icon in the task bar (figure 1). If it shows up as N/A then no successful sync has been made to the server yet (figure 2).

1.2 Version running
To check what version is running, choose “About” in the menu (figure 3).

1.3 Settings menu
On the “Settings…” menu you can see what server is currently used to send desk check-in messages to. You can also see the unique dongle ID, or re-scan the dongle ID from the USB-device. If you are not able to see the dongle ID please make sure the dongle is installed.

1.4 Log file
The log file logs client event such as details about USB dongle look up, server calls etc. It can be found in the logged in users AppData local folder. Usually this is on this path:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Flowscape\usb-desk-check-in.log
(You can also type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Flowscape\usb-desk-check-in.log in explorer to get to the Local Appdata folder.)
Look out for log entries marked with “Warning” or “Error” tags to locate errors.
1.5 Startup file
If the desk checkin app is not starting automatically, please ensure that the startup file is located in one of these folders on your computer:
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Shortcut to Primary output from usb-desk-check-in-cs (Active)
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Shortcut to Primary output from usb-desk-check-in-cs (Active)
So the startup file needs to be in 1 of the folders above. If it is missing, the software needs to be reinstalled
1.6 Task enabled
If the desk checkin app is not starting automatically, please ensure that the task is enabled in the task manager's startup-tab.
In the Task manager -> Startup apps -> Sort by "Name" -> The desk checkin software should be one of the top programs (for me it is the very first), note that the software is listed under a different name! You can use "Open file location" to doublecheck that it really is that software (note the Flowscape software in that same folder).
You can see whether the status is enabled or disabled in the Task Manager. It should be enabled, of course.
